RENAN KOEN

Pianist, composer, music therapist, soprano and author of Positive Resistance. She realizes many concerts around the world, including New York United Nations and Carnegie Hall, continues to raise awareness in the world with her concerts, speeches and extensive work with young people on the issue of the Holocaust and paves the way for young people from all communities. With her albums released so far and her book Positive Resistance, she is in Yad Vashem and took part in the Washington Library of Congress by opening a section on her name, and all of his works have entered the catalog of the institution. She is the creator and current director of the “Positive Resistance Through Holocaust Reality” education program, the “March of the Music” student movement, and the Positive Resistance concept and method.

 

With her wide repertoire, she gives concerts around the world such as in South Africa, Brazil, France, America, Germany, Spain, Romania, Switzerland and many other countries, she is invited to various congresses on Music Therapy, plays as a soloist in various orchestras, gives chamber music concerts and takes part in many different projects.

 

She reelizaed five albums: Bridges, Lost Traces Hidden Memories, Holocaust Remembrance “Before Sleep”, Renan Koen Plays Ali Darmar and March of the Music. She still continues to work in Music Therapy field by applying her own method and the method has become a subject of scientific research. In addition to her concerts, one of her many works in the field of intangible cultural heritage is the Antakya Sound Memory project.

Özcan Geçer

Özcan Geçer

Born in 1976 in Diyarbakır, Özcan Geçer completed his higher education at Istanbul Technical University as a Management Engineer. In his 21 years of active working life in the capital markets, he finally worked as the general manager of a private bank’s investment firm. As one of the founding members of the cultural platform Suryaniler.com, Geçer works in various fields such as documentaries, books, exhibition projects about Syriac and other minority cultures, social memory research and commemoration events. As a member of the executive board of the İstanbul City Council, Geçer continues his professional career as a financial consultant in addition to his consultancy in European Union projects.

İsmail Yavuz Özkaya

İsmail Yavuz Özkaya

İsmail Yavuz Özkaya received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1983 and a Master of Science in Restoration in 1987 from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. Following graduation, he worked as an architect and project coordinator at various architectural design companies. He lived in Ithaca NY between 1991 and 1995 and attended the Graduate Program in Art and Art History Program of SUNY Binghamton. Özkaya started his office specializing in design and historic preservation in 1995. He prepared historic preservation projects for a wide range of sites and monuments in addition to his architectural design work. Since 2006, he is working at Ani archeological site, documenting and preparing historic preservation projects for its different monuments. Currently he is managing the conservation works of Surp Amenap’rkich Church and the Cathedral of Ani in collaboration with World Monuments Fund and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism; and working on his contribution to a monograph of Surp Amenap’rkich Church by Armen Kazaryan.

1962 yılında doğan Prof. Dr. Eva ŞARLAK, İlkokulu Merkez Rum Kız Lisesinde okuduktan sonra Saint Pulcherie Fransız Kız Ortaokuluna devam etmiştir. Lise eğitimini Saint Benoit Fransız Lisesinde tamamlayarak 1981 yılında mezun olmuştur.

Lisans eğitimini İstanbul Üniversitesi, Arkeoloji ve Sanat Tarihi Bölümü Klasik  Arkeoloji Ana Bilim Dalında gerçekleştirmiş ve İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Sanat Tarihi alanında 1996 yılında ‘Ondokuzuncu Yüzyıl İstanbul Rum Ortodoks Kiliseleri ‘ başlıklı yüksek lisans tezini tamamlayarak mezun olmuştur. Lisans eğitimi döneminde Turizm Bakanlığının Profesyonel Turist Rehberliği kurslarına devam etmiş, lisans ve yüksek lisans eğitimi süresince Profesyonel Turizm Rehberi olarak çalışmıştır.

Akademik yaşamına İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Sanat Tarihi bölümünde devam etmiş ve ‘Post-Bizans Döneminde Duvardan Bağımsız İkonalar’ başlıklı doktora çalışmasıyla 2001 yılında doktor ünvanı almıştır. 1996 yılında Feyziye Mektepleri Vakfı Işık Üniversitesinde öğretim görevlisi ve 1998 yılında Yardımçı Doçent ünvanıyla akademik kariyerine başlamıştır. Doçentlik ünvanını 2006 yılında Batı Sanatı ve Çağdaş Sanat Bilim Alanında alarak Işık Üniversitesi İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Bölümünün Sanat Kültür ve Toplum programının kuruluş çalışmalarına katılmıştır.

2012 yılında Profesörlük ünvanını alarak halen öğretim üyesi olarak yer aldığı Işık Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Görsel Sanatlar Bölümü kadrosunda akademik görevine devam etmiştir. 2018 – 2021 yılları arasında Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesine Dekan olarak atanan Prof.Dr.Eva Şarlak Tasarım Tarihi Mitoloji ve İkonografi, Tarih Öncesinden Rönesans Dönemine dek Sanat, İstanbul Kent, Kültür ve Mimarlık, Rönesans’tan Modernizm Dönemine Sanat adlı halen vermekte olduğu dersler dışında History of Architecture, History of Art, History of Architecture, History of Civilization. İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Byzantine and European Iconography konulu lisans ve yüksek lisans dersleri vermiştir

Amerikan Birleşik Devletleri Dış İşleri Departmanı tarafından “Cultural Heritage Preservation” Bizans çalışmaları nedeniyle 2004 yılında International Visitors Programına seçilmiş ve ABD’de restorasyon çalışmalarını gözlemlemiştir. Fransa’da Havre Universitesinde Avrupa Birliği tarafından tarafından 2003 yılında gerçekleştirilen “L’Union Européenne: des racines et un heritage culturel commun, facteur de cohésion et de de solidarité” adlı kültür çalışmalarına katılmıştır.

Sanat ve Mimarlık Tarihi alanında uluslararası ve ulusal platformlarda kitap, makale, bildirileri bulunan Prof.Dr.Eva Şarlak’ın hakemli dergi kurullarında hakemlik, kitap danışmanlığı gibi akademik faaliyetleri dışında Kültürel Mirası Koruma çalışmalarına ilişkin birçok projede yer almış ve yer almaya devam etmektedir.

2010 Yılında İstanbul Avrupa Kültür Başkenti döneminde Adalar Müzesi küratoryal ekibinde bulunarak müze kuruluşunda yer almış, Batılılaşan İstanbul’un Rum Mimarları Sergisinde çalışmalarda bulunmuştur.
2014 yılında Kültürel Mirası Koruma Derneğinin kuruluş çalışmalarına başlayarak derneğin 4 yıl süreyle KMKDnin Kurucu Başkanı olarak görev almıştır.

Yunanca, Fransızca ve İngilizce dillerini bilen Prof. Dr. Eva Şarlak evli ve ikiz kız annesidir.

Maral Maryam Fuchs

Maral Maryam Fuchs

Maral Fuchs was born in 1970 in Istanbul. Following her graduation from Esayan Armenian High School, she pursued studies in Computer Programming at Boğaziçi University.

Throughout her professional career, she held positions as a software developer, systems analyst, project manager, and ERP consultant. After the birth of her son, she took a break from her active professional life and began studying German. In 2015, she graduated from the Faculty of German Translation and Interpreting at Marmara University.

Maral Fuchs has translated books for Aras Publishing, in addition to providing translation services for various institutions. Motivated by her interest in cultural heritage and history, she enrolled in Istanbul University’s Distance Learning Program and completed a degree in Cultural Heritage and Tourism. She is currently continuing her studies in the field of History. Alongside her academic work and research, she also contributes as a columnist for Paros Magazine.

 

Dogan Pinhas

Dogan Pinhas

Dogan Pinhas was born in Istanbul in 1979. He is fluent in English and French, married, and the father of two children. He graduated from Lycée Saint Michel and received his Bachelor of Science degree in General Management from Purdue University in 2002, with a minor in Management Information Systems. He later pursued an Executive MBA program at Işık University in Istanbul.

Pinhas began his career in Switzerland, Singapore, and Turkey, working with various international companies including Compagnie Bancaire de Genève, Toshiba Singapore PTE, PwC Istanbul, Toshiba Notebook, and Escort Computer. In 2002, he joined Elektromak, Toshiba’s MFP distributor in Turkey, as Business Development Coordinator, and has been serving as partner since 2015.

Actively involved in various NGOs, Dogan Pinhas has collaborated on educational initiatives with the Hrant Dink Foundation and the Turkish Jewish Community. His areas of personal research include Turkish Jewish history and the pre-Roman periods of Western Anatolia. He has also published articles on sport sailing . As of 2025, he’s a board member in civil society organizations such as the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the 500th Year Foundation Turkish Jewish Museum. As a member of archaeological scientific boards, he has contributed to the Letoon-Xanthos excavations (2020–2023) and currently serves on the Phaselis excavation team (2024–2025).
